Hire a Hut, Northland’s leading cabin company, is on the lookout for an experienced builder to take on a leading hand role at our yard in Maunu, Whangārei. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), paid at current market rates or above, depending on experience.

We’re after someone with all-round carpentry skills and the ability to step into a leadership role when required. You’ll be working closely with our production manager, receiving direction from him and at times managing the rest of the team to get the job done.

You’ll be based at our custom yard, building high-quality, relocatable cabins.

What We’re Looking For

You must have:

• Carpentry/building experience
• A current driver’s licence
• The ability to work within a team but also independently
• The skills to read and interpret plans
• A task-focused attitude and ability to work to deadlines
• Strong communication skills - able to take direction from the production manager and lead when required
